Yeah, every September, somewhere amid Sloop’s various writing, commentary and/or performing endeavors, he follows a tired old ritual of trying to get Neil Diamond’s “September Morn” in folks’ heads. Not sure why. It’s not such a bad tune… Anyway, speaking of tired old rituals, it’s Sloop emceeing a night of music and other entertainment for the monthly Red Line Tap Flabby gig! Enjoy Sloop’s witticisms for the breaks between acts! (Acts TBA.) C’mon up on stage with Sloop and earn a free gift through the most ridiculous game show on earth! That “Cornucopia” is a sampling of the finest variety of acts Chicago has to offer! Along with, well, some of the, er, non-finest… But that’s variety for ya’! Comedy, music, dance, poetry and, our favorite, “other”! Now that’s a cornucopia for ya’, hence the “veritable” label! And Sloop emcees with such hosting finery that… Okay, so he arguably puts the “corn” in “cornucopia,” but he’s lovable. More acts than you can shake a stick it! (But please don’t be shakin’ your stick, at least outside the bathroom!) Sloop’ll be shakin’ his (and Flabby’s) schtick between the acts, too! It’s a punky venue, but somehow, as with any good romantic comedy, it fits the Cavalcade! The same can be said for those rare, but unsung, “romantic tragedies” but… That’s a tale for another…somethin’…

Yes, Sloop will be waxin’ his weenie…er, waxing Halloweenie for this one! Perhaps. See, he doesn’t have a show closer to the Witching Fest, so this’ll have to do. Maybe. He’s been known to don a costume for the officially dubbed Flabby show for the holiday and… Ahem. In any event--music acts (TBA) and Sloop hostin’ his (Hallo-)weenie off, bantering between the bands and engaging in game show fun. C’mon up onstage and win a prize! (NOT Sloop’s Hallo-weenie.)
